Mike,

I really believe turkeys are pretty much the same anywhere you hunt them, no matter the geography or the species.  That said, there's something about hunting with you that turns ordinary turkeys into super beasts and makes the hunt an adventure.  I appreciate that!  I have enclosed a deposit for next spring and a picture of that trophy bird...hunting SD truly is the highlight of season.

Thanks,

Four shots with a bow in less than two days of hunting is hard to beat anywhere on turkeys. There's no doubt I'll be back. -Tom Tietz, Petersen's Bow Hunting

Hey Mike,

Just thought I'd drop you a line and say "thanks" for the exceptional time I had at your lodge this fall. As always, the accommodations were great and the hunting top-notch.

I'm still reeling from the duck hunt we had up by Pierre. As you know, I grew up near Lake of the Woods and cut my eye teeth hunting the northern flights of mallards and bluebills that came down from Canada by the thousands. Not since those days so many years ago have I experienced the caliber of duck hunting that we enjoyed those three days hunting the potholes of South Dakota. I swear I could smell the ducks as we waded to the blind in the dark that first morning. The biggest challenge was to keep from shooting my limit the first half hour of light. What a dilemma! I don't think there was a moment the entire morning when there weren't ducks in the air. I'll treasure the memory of that hunt for life, and hope we can get together to do it again soon.

You have an exceptional setup, Mike, with access to all the land and the nice lodge. I will highly recommend South Dakota Hunting Service to anyone who wants to experience grandiose duck, pheasant, turkey or deer hunting at a modest cost. Feel free to use me as a reference if you think it will help.

Yours for the sport,

Dear Mike:

I want to thank you again for supplying two of the finest duck hunts of my life. I had a tremendous time, both the day that I filled my limit and the day that I didn't. I'll gladly trade a few ducks from my bag for the experience of having a couple of hundred mallards land in my face as happened on that second morning.

I also feel fortunate that the hunts taught me some valuable lessons and I think gained me another friend.

I hope your fall hunts go well. I hunted the first and third days of pheasant Season. We had some sensational shooting opening day in a small weed patch. The next hunt there was snow on the ground and we pushed a conservative 300 birds out of a 200 yard long shelter belt. Kayla, my golden, did well and had a great time.

Don't be surprised if I take you up on your offer for a spring turkey hunt. I've always wanted to take one with my bow. I'm also checking into the possibilities of my daughter taking a Grand Slam. The fact that she'd probably be the youngest woman to accomplish such a feat would certainly make for some great story material for me and publicity for you.

Thanks again!

Sincerely,

Dear Mike,

What a fantastic hunt! It far exceeded my expectations. They don't call South Dakota the "Pheasant Capital of the World" for nothing. It was a pleasure to hunt fields with such a good wild pheasant population without having to hunt shoulder to shoulder with other groups. Of course, we wouldn't have been nearly as successful without your hunting experience and the assistance of two very good Labradors, Molly and Max. To watch them work is almost worth the trip by itself. Molly retrieved birds that I thought were lost forever.

To top it off the food was outstanding.

It was a pleasure to meet and hunt with you. I would highly recommend to any company wanting to arrange for a hunting party to call you first. They won't regret it.

Sincerely,

Dear Mike:

Just wanted to let you know that the footage I shot while in camp turned out great. Bill's bowhunt and early morning turkey footage is some of the best I have ever captured. I can't tell you how hard it is to get that type of video.

Your entire operation was first class. The people, the logistics, the food, and lodging were absolutely first class. I know you hear it all the time, but you run a first class operation from top to bottom. I'll try and get you a copy of some of the video tape in a few weeks. Our edit room is swamped right now getting ready for this years TV show. I look forward to a return visit. I'll contact you shortly about a possible goose/pheasant hunt this fall. Be sure and tell Harriet, DJ, and Bobby how much I enjoyed being with them.

Sincerely,

Dear Mike,

Just a short note to thank you for the excellent Turkey hunt that my friends and I had with you this year. You certainly had done your home work and had everything in place and ready when we arrived. As we all know it is very difficult to hunt turkeys with bow, but you had done such an excellent job in pin pointing birds for us that all we had to do was "just showup," and they were there. The general feeling was, "this was our best overall US hunt."
